Contemporary Threads is a textile arts group based in Liverpool. We are passionate about all things textile and mixed media, bringing together inspired stitchers from a wide range of traditions, techniques and perspectives.

Our aim is to provide mutual inspiration for creating beautiful textile pieces, to encourage each other to stretch ourselves and to share ideas and techniques.

Four of us set up the group in the summer of 2018, since when we have grown to a vibrant and supportive group. We have learnt a lot from each other, and in workshops led by a wide range of textile artists external to the group.

Since our inception we have exhibited regularly, often by invitation and will continue to do so in order to share our work in the future.
